Atheist Statistics and Greydon Square
Kevin A. shared these videos on our Facebook group, and I thought I would pass them along to you. The first video relays some statistics about atheism and the second is from an atheist rapper.
You can judge the videos for yourself, but regarding the statistics video I will say that there are definitely some difficulties with respect to interpreting the relationships that it sets up, but if 1) there is a relationship between atheism and education and 2) we are promoting atheism as a good, then clearly the path to cultivating atheism is promoting education, and likely a liberal education at that.
Unfortunately, as a result of neoliberal ideologies the amount of support that the United States government has been giving to education has dwindled in the past several years, which can partially be seen in steadily rising tuition rates, and has also been particularly damaging to those departments that are responsible for providing a liberal education. So, when you espouse a particular economic position, you should be aware of the consequences and ramifications that result from said position, and consider the hidden costs that result from it.

New Secular Student Group Blog
I haven't checked it out yet, but Hemant over at Friendly Atheist reports that there is "a new collective blog by secular students" called The Edger.
Quad Day 2008
Thank you to everyone who helped out with and visited our table at Quad Day, buried among the other religious organizations as we were.We were impressed by the number of people who showed interest. It was nice seeing the smiles that appeared on people's faces just to see that we exist.
I should also note that no one said any mean things to us, though we did get some, "Sheesh, atheists? Really?", sort of looks. I also heard a woman say, "Atheists! Nice!"
